It’s important for residents to know car insurance requirements in Florida. The following are the coverage types and limit amounts required for auto insurance in Florida; however these minimums are just a starting point, and you may want to consider increasing your coverage limits or purchasing additional coverage for further protection. 

  • Property Damage Liability to cover property damage expenses in an accident when you’re at fault – $10,000 limit 
  • Personal Injury Protection to cover medical or funeral expenses if you and/or your passengers are hurt in an accident – $10,000 limit
