The goal for all the content on our site is to empower you to feel confident in your insurance decisions
At Rate Retriever, our core values guide everything we do – from how we design our quiz and rate retrieval process to how we decide what content to produce and how to produce it.
From how we list companies in our comparison tools to the information we report in our insurance guides, we aim to provide unmatched transparency and earn your trust.Â
We will not sell your contact information to spammers. We will create tools with your best experience in mind.Â
Insurance is confusing. We try to make it easy to understand so you can make the best decisions for you.Â
Our content is developed and written by writers and editors experienced in the insurance industry who go through a rigorous process to ensure content accuracy and create content in line with industry standards. All content is fact-checked and thoroughly reviewed for accuracy and clarity.Â
Research and data analysis are crucial to our editorial process.
When creating informational guides, tools, and content, we may also look at the same data sources that power our comparison tool to find rates. These rates are based on public rate filings obtained by analytics company First Interpreter. This data comes from the rating plans insurance carriers submit to each state’s department of insurance. Rating plans detail how each carrier calculates premiums using factors such as location, age, gender, and driving record, and they ensure that insurance premiums are both fair and competitive.
For average rates, we make the following assumptions: a 35-year-old single male with a clean driving record and Good credit score, driving a 2022 RAV4. We modify this profile based on individual variables (such as age or credit score) as needed to support the content on each page. When we do modify our base profile, we let you know.
To source our information, we look to reports, studies, and surveys from industry leaders such as the Insurance Information Institute and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Whenever applicable, we link to our sources.
To provide our comparison tools and unbiased insurance resources at no cost to you, we partner with some of the brands you see on our site, and we may earn a commission when you click our links, call a phone number on our site, or make a purchase from one of our partners.
Despite our relationships with certain insurance providers, we maintain editorial independence. We are not compensated for reviewing or recommending providers a certain way, and we are in no way obligated to review our partners favorably. We also do not limit our reviews and comparison tool results to paid partners. This is how we maintain editorial independence so we can give you information that benefits you, not insurance providers.
Should you choose to purchase from one of our partners, the commission we earn will not adversely affect the price you pay.
